Alright, before I go any further, here's what I made:
Individual Orange Pudding Cake
This recipe is from Nic. She has made this recipe three times, so it must be really good. So when I saw her last attempt for Lime Pudding Cakes, I knew I had to give it a try. Also, I like the fact that this can be made into individual ramekins which allows me to use my new set of 4 ramekins.
This pudding cake is really interesting. As my spoon cuts through the soft, chiffon-like cake on the top, a smooth custardy pudding awaits beneath. Before I knew it, I had finished the entire cake and was reaching out for the second ramekin. So I quickly put the remaining two into the refrigerator ("see no evil"). When we ate them the next day, it was even better chilled. What a 'cool' way to round up our dinner.

Angie! THIS IS FABULOUS!!(*Screaming excitedly!*)
Wow, this looks so soft and yummy! Will go check out the recipe! :)
The recipe looks fantastic! The angles you shown the food totally kidnap all my senses! This cake is more my liking... esp I don't like frosting. You too pal?
Grace, I hope your cheek pain is much better, seeing that you can scream so excitingly :)
Ching, this is indeed yummy. But if you don't have such a sweet tooth, you might like to reduce the sugar. I decreased from 2 cups sugar to 1-and-a-half, but still find it a bit too sweet. Hubby found it just nice though.
Gattina, thanks for your encouragement on my photos :) I'm defintely with you, pal, on the dislike for frosting.
Always to have get tissue on standby when reading your blog. To wipe drool off my keyboard (again!). Yummy!
wow wow, from the way you described, i die die must try but first, need to get those ramskin cups!
Wow.. i am sure this will taste great after a heartty meal :o Or a great dessert for guests after dinner.
Rene, thanks!
Edith, yes, do try it, or you can make it in one big souffle, like Nic's ;p
Ellena, a delicious dessert indeed, I especially like it chilled.
*whoa* Looks so tempting!! Cant wait to try this out. Lol. But must get the ramekins cups first. Have been searching high and low for it but couldn't find though. Weird.
Also, the recipe calls for ap flour. I wonder if i can substitute that with other flour? Please advise.
Thanks! :)
Cherie,
You should be able to get ramekins at Ikea or places like Robinsons (I got mine from there) or CK Tang.
Actually AP flour is plain flour, which is easily available. I think cake flour should work fine too, though I've not substituted before.
Do give it a try, it's really nice :)
Gasp! This looks sooo good!!! And it took less than 30 min to make? Wow... I must try this soon too! But haha, must get my ramekins too!
Robinsons? I've been there but don't have :( but that was quite sometime ago.
I'll try again soon! Cant wait to make this and the choc kisses too! Yums!
Thanks for your advise angie :)
p.s: I'd be trying your spiral pastry next week. LOL. Hope i wont fail..
Rach, yeah, it's a quick dessert to make :)
Cherie, you're most welcome :)
I bought the ramekins quite some time ago too. Looks like you're going on a baking spree. Have fun!
looks so delicious! i'm getting hungry over here!!
Diddy, I've been trying to leave comments on your blog, but somehow I keep getting errors. Are you on blogger Beta?
Angie, this is so so interesting n tempting! I can't wait to try this out. So, I'm going to cut Q for this, hehe. Thks for sharing :-).
Angie,
i was curious looking at the recipe and decided to do some testing of the orange pudding cake. somehow, it came out very nice indeed but i think hve to reduce the sugar - very, very sweet! will be making it again since my dd likes it very much.
Delia, glad you like it. Must thanks Nic of Bakingsheet too :)
Angie,
I love this pudding too. I've made the lemon one, so tangy!
It is called Lemon Delicious down here, a very old-fashioned pudding.
SD,
Oh yes, I saw that too as I was browsing thru' your archives yesterday, looking for inspiration ;p. Shall try the tangy lemon flavour next, Lemon Delicious :)
